Before you start: Have a project brief, marking rubric, milestones and the eligible learner classes ready.

1. Prepare a rubric and project definition
- Open Rubrics and create the rubric’s criteria and performance levels.
- Review the criterion scores and save the rubric.
- Open Definitions and create a project brief with the relevant rubric and milestones.
- Review the definition’s preview and publish when ready.
What to check: A reusable project definition has a marking scheme and expected milestones.
2. Assign a project and collect evidence
- Open a published definition and use Assign.
- Select the eligible classes or learners and confirm the assignment.
- Open the resulting learner project from Learner projects.
- Update milestones and add evidence files or notes to the relevant project sections.
- Verify uploaded evidence opens correctly before submitting for marking.
What to check: Each assigned learner has a project record with milestone progress and evidence.
3. Mark, moderate and sign off
- Open the learner project and review its evidence against the rubric.
- Use Submit for marking when the evidence is ready.
- Record criterion marks and feedback in Marking, saving the assessment.
- Complete the moderation or sign-off action permitted by your role; review the confirmation before Sign off.
- Open History to check the recorded transitions and final outcome.
What to check: The project retains assessment decisions and an auditable progression through review.
